Rostec launched serial production of the first domestic MRI-compatible cardiac pacemaker

The Rostec State Corporation has begun the serial production of the first Russian MRI-compatible cardiac pacemaker, Apollo MRI. The device is intended for patients with severe forms of arrhythmia. It is being showcased in the Corporation's exhibition at the international forum "Bioprom-2025."
Apollo MRI pacemaker, manufactured by Kardioelectronica, is implanted under the skin and continuously monitors the rate and regularity of the heartbeat, taking into account the patient's individual physiological characteristics. Because the device can accumulate data on heart function, doctors receive an objective picture of the patient's condition and can adjust treatment accordingly.
The main advantage of Apollo MRI is that it allows patients to undergo MRI examinations without any restrictions, which is impossible with conventional pacemakers. This provides access to modern diagnostic methods and increases the effectiveness of treatment.
"The priority task for Rostec is the development and production of modern medical devices, especially those that are vital for patients. The launch of serial production of the first Russian MRI-compatible pacemaker is an important step in the development of domestic medical device manufacturing. By 2027, we plan to scale up our production and reach capacity volumes of up to 5,000 devices per year. This will not only provide Russian patients with modern and safe technology but also reduce the country's dependence on imports in cardiology," — said Sergey Dmitrochenko, General Director of RT-Medtech.
