Rostec to Deliver 8,000 Pacemakers to Russian Hospitals by Year-End

Kardioelektronica of the Rostec State Corporation will supply 8,000 pacemakers to medical institutions by the end of the year, including the latest model—Russia's first MRI-compatible pacemaker, the Apollo MRI. The device is being showcased at the Russian Healthcare Week — 2025 forum.
Kardioelektronica manufactures implantable pacemakers, including single-chamber, dual-chamber, and triple-chamber models, as well as modern devices from the Apollo series.
In October 2025, the company began the serial production of Russia's first MRI-compatible pacemaker, the Apollo MRI. The device is intended for patients with severe forms of arrhythmia. It is implanted under the skin and continuously monitors the heart's rhythm, accounting for an individual's unique physiological characteristics. The device features a memory function, storing data on cardiac activity. This will allow doctors to monitor the patient's condition over time. Its primary advantage is the ability to safely undergo MRI examinations, which is not possible with conventional pacemakers.
«The launch of the MRI-compatible Apollo MRI pacemaker marks a step forward for Russian medicine, demonstrating the ability to create competitive technologies on a global level. We initiated serial production of these MRI-compatible pacemakers two months ago. In 2027, we plan to ramp up production to 5,000 units annually. In total, we will supply up to 9,000 pacemakers of all models next year. This will help meet the growing domestic healthcare demand for modern devices to treat arrhythmias», said Sergey Dmitrochenko, General Director of RT-MedTech.
Representatives of the medical community highlight that introducing the MRI-compatible pacemaker into clinical practice will reduce dependency on imported medical devices and equip physicians with an effective treatment solution. It will enable patients to undergo modern diagnostic magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans without limitations.

Our clinical experience confirms that these devices incorporate sophisticated algorithms, which contribute to improving patients' average life expectancy and quality», —stated Mikhail Protasov, Candidate of Medical Sciences and Head of the Department for Surgical Treatment of Complex Cardiac Arrhythmias and Pacemaker Therapy at the Republican Cardiology Dispensary of the Chuvash Republic's Ministry of Health.
The Russian Healthcare Week scientific and practical forum is taking place from December 8th to 11th at the Crocus Expo Exhibition Center. As one of the key federal events in medicine, it serves as the biggest platform for showcasing innovation. The forum agenda includes discussions on current healthcare priorities, results of national projects, technological sovereignty issues, and presentations of developments by young scientists.
This year the event has attracted over 27,000 specialists and more than 1,000 companies from ten countries, including Belarus, India, and China. Breakthrough medical solutions are being presented by leading enterprises of the Rostec State Corporation, including RT-MedTech, Shvabe, Rosel, KRET, and Technodinamika. The event is organized by the State Duma of the Russian Federation, the Russian Ministry of Health, and EXPOCENTRE JSC, with support from the Federation Council, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, and the Ministry of Economic Development.
